iCareer Academy (extra courses, workshops and student excursions)
MBAE iCareer Academy is an academy where we provide students with a diverse range of courses, workshops, and events designed to enhance their career skills and expand their job opportunities, including soft skills, language training, and hands-on professional skills delivered alongside the core academic knowledge from our main programme. Student excursions are also a key part of the iCareer Academy experience, as we believe it is essential for students to build real-world connections with the industries and companies they may work with in the future. All courses, workshops, events, and excursions are free of charge for all MBAE students.
Student excursions
We offer a wide range of company excursions that provide students with valuable first-hand insights into leading organizations across Germany. These experiences include visits to renowned companies such as Volkswagen, Tesla, Volkswagen, Mercedes or/and an immersive 3-day excursion to Bielefeld where students explore up to six different companies. These excursions are designed to inspire students, broaden their perspectives, and strengthen their understanding of real-world business environments while building meaningful connections with industry professionals.
Note: Some students may have additional excursions, as their professors might organize specific company visits as part of their courses.
List of extra courses (a few courses may vary for each intake)
- Business Data Science with Python
Business Data Science with Python is a course that teaches how to analyze and interpret business data using Python programming. It focuses on practical techniques such as data cleaning, visualization, and predictive modeling to support data-driven decision-making in real-world business contexts.
- Intercultural Competence and Communication at Universities and the Workplace
This workshop helps students understand and navigate cultural differences in academic and professional environments. It develops skills for effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork across diverse cultural backgrounds to enhance global awareness and workplace readiness.
- (Intensive) German lauguage course
Intensive German Course is a language program designed to rapidly improve students’ German proficiency through focused and immersive learning. It covers essential grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills to help students communicate confidently in academic and everyday situations.
- Event - MBA&E Connect Day (in May)
MBA&E Connect – Networking Day is an event that brings students, alumni, and industry professionals together to build meaningful connections. It provides opportunities to exchange ideas, explore career paths, and engage with MBAE alumni in a professional networking environment.
- Scientific Writing for thesis preparation
Scientific Writing for Thesis Preparation is a course that teaches students how to structure, write, and present academic research in a clear and coherent manner. It focuses on developing skills in literature review, argumentation, proper citation, and formal academic style to support effective thesis writing.
- Time Management and Presentation Skills
Time Management and Presentation Skills is a course that helps students plan and prioritize their tasks effectively while meeting deadlines. It also focuses on developing confident and clear presentation skills, enabling students to communicate their ideas professionally in academic and workplace settings.
- Thesis support meeting
Thesis support meetings provide students with guidance and feedback throughout the research and writing process of their thesis. These sessions help students refine their topics, structure their work, and address challenges to ensure steady progress toward completion. This session takes place every two weeks for the whole year.
- Workshops by studierendenWERK Berlin (for all students in Berlin)
StudierendenWERK Berlin offers a wide range of workshops (mainly through its “KompetenzWERK” and related services) that help students develop academic, professional, and personal skills.
